Out of the city – Liverpool’s best districts

We’ve been loving our new home in Liverpool. Our office is located right in the heart of the city so we’re lucky enough to have everything within our grasp. If we need to grab lunch we’ve got hundreds of fab eateries to choose from and there’s never a bar far away for a few cocktails after working our socks off all day.

Our Liverpool team know the city like the back of their hands, but what’s always so fascinating is that there’s always something new to discover. From pop-up bars and shops to festivals and fashion shows, there’s a small delight around every corner.

Similar to our neighbours over in Manchester, Liverpool has some great pockets – some well-known, some still relatively undiscovered, however here are  some of our top places in the city that we reckon are worth shouting about:

Sefton Park

There’s no harm in saying that this is one of the most attractive areas surrounding the city centre of Liverpool. The park is Grade I listed, so it’s a very important piece of the city’s history – unfortunately for us you can’t live on the park itself but there’s a pretty good selection of beautiful homes and apartments within the vicinity if you’re looking to live nearby. We’d certainly recommend taking a nosey around the park as not only is it good for a nice weekend stroll or a picnic, but it also hosts a huge number of high profile events in the city, so living here could mean top events right on your very doorstep.

Princes Dock

It’s more than likely you will have been to, or at least heard of Albert Dock, but its neighbouring Princes Dock often gets overlooked. Located just a little further down the road from Albert, it’s been home to many huge events in Liverpool thanks to its vast amount of space, including the Sound City music festival. There’s certainly lots going on with an array of restaurants, cafes and hotels – plus it’s the location of the Liverpool cruise terminal so you can hop on a boat and see the watery sights of the city, what’s not to love?

Baltic Triangle

Chances are you’ve heard this name a couple of times already as it is fast becoming one of Liverpool’s most happening hotspots. Located just a hop, skip and a jump away from the central shopping hub of Liverpool ONE, the tringle is full of independent bars, restaurants and cafes meaning you get an alternative taste of Liverpool without having to venture too far from the bustling high street. It’s fast becoming the place to live for students and young professionals so if you’re looking for a home here you better act fast.

Birkenhead

OK, so we know it’s not technically Liverpool but we had to give this a special mention. Located just across the River Mersey on the Wirral, there are big plans ahead for Birkenhead with a whole host of new investment pouring into the area. With a whopping £1 billion set to be spent on transforming the town, you can bet your bottom dollar that every man and his dog is going to be hopping on that ferry across the Mersey to take a peek once it’s finished, so why not get there first?
