Leeds transportation receives large investment

Leeds transportation

Leeds’ rail systems are set to receive a multi million-pound investment over the coming years with a new station at White Rose and big changes to Leeds station.

Leeds City Council have agreed plans with Munroe K Luxembourg and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority to build a new station in the south of the city which has the potential to be used by 340,000 passengers. The £2.61m investment has the potential to provide an estimated 10,000 jobs and grow the local economy, benefitting both current and future residents of the city.

With the station sitting on the main Trans-Pennine rail line on the Leeds to Dewsbury section, it will connect communities including Cottingley, Churwell and Millshaw and considerably improve access to the White Rose Office Park which includes Elliott Hudson College and White Rose Shopping Centre.

This, matched with the city’s bid to the Department for Transport’s Transforming Cities Fund for £39.5m to aid the ‘Sustainable Travel Gateway’ project which includes the predestination of New Station Street and other environmental improvements, shows that Leeds is a fantastic place to invest. For our landlords with properties in Leeds city centre and the surrounding areas, there are great things coming and Leeds will continue to be a great investment in the near and far future.
