Interior Inspiration – Do It Yourself!

Time for another instalment of our interior inspiration posts! There’s nothing we love more than oohing and ahhing over bloggers and their fab homes. While we always love seeing a finished product, we can’t help but wonder how many hours of blood, sweat and tears went into creating that perfect little haven in their home.

Luckily for us, alongside the picture-perfect images of their kitchens, bathrooms and upcycled furniture, bloggers are also sharing their tips on how exactly they created their look. And we were surprised to learn just how many were willing to get their hands dirty on a good, old-fashioned renovation project. While those who are new to the world of interiors may think that everything has to be done by professionals, sometimes time and budget constraints means that this isn’t always possible..

While most home overhauls will require some manual labour, these blogs have gone above and beyond to give the traders a run for their money. Whether it’s giving an old piece of furniture a new lease of life or a full-on house renovation, we’re in awe of some of these DIY projects. As a self-confessed fan of both power tools and tutus, Alice is proof that you don’t have to hire a pro to get a job done. She may now be considered an expert at all things DIY given the fact she’s halfway through renovating her Victorian semi-detached home, but as with any blogger worth their salt, she’s learnt by doing. And despite being a dab-hand at all the tough stuff, the finished results speak for themselves with Pinterest-worthy status. We may be biased given the fact she’s a fellow Manchester dweller, but we love her work. We have to take our hats off to Kerry. Not only did she completely renovate her entire home in three years, she then sold it to take on yet another renovation project. Another Manchester blogger to feature on our interior inspiration post, Antonia is a mum of three boys running a busy family home, although you may be fooled into thinking otherwise on first look of her blog. Her home is the picture of style, and as the name suggests, is always spotless! However, looks can be deceiving and Antonia is always partial to rolling up her sleeves and getting stuck in a good old bit of DIY. We particularly love her work on this upcycled pine wardrobe!
