Why is Manchester such a great place to live?

We love Manchester.

And it's not just because one of our bases is here, or because we have a decade-long knowledge of the city. Quite simply, it’s because it’s an amazing place to be.

Manchester just has so much to offer, and this is one of the reasons why over 2.55million people choose to live here.

Travel

Commuting around the city is a breeze, especially for workers in the city centre. Additionally, the number of employment opportunities are rife. Not only does the region house the largest financial district outside of London, it is also home to the BBC and the renowned creative media hub known as MediaCityUK; both of which were estimated to create over 15,500 jobs by the end of 2015.

The city

The city centre is also full of little gems which make Manchester so unique. From national museums and theatres packed with cultural events, to the delights of Market Street and the unique trader’s outlet Afflecks Palace. Manchester’s eclectic mix of anything and everything is just one of the things we love about the place.

Although the city centre is certainly part of Manchester’s appeal, with the Northern Quarter, The Village and Deansgate Locks being popular choices for nightlife, the surrounding areas also have so much to offer, each being completely unique.

For those that like a quiet life, you’ll find beautiful countryside also on the doorstep with Cheshire just a stone’s throw away. Quaint cottages, country pubs and nature walks dominate the landscape and provide a retreat, which although is just a few miles in distance, appears to be far from the hustle and bustle of city life.

We probably don’t need to mention our world famous red and blue football clubs and stadiums - we’ll leave the ‘who is best’ debate completely up to you - but the development and improvement of both stadiums have brought positive vibes to Manchester. In the past few years alone, the range of fantastic facilities positioned around the Sportcity Complex and City of Manchester stadium have continued to drive new jobs and residents to the area.
